Greensplat China Clay Pit: When I visited here in 2016 with Huw, this part of the huge pit was operated by Goonvean Aggregates for sand processing.
The main part of the pit is still operated by Imerys, clay extraction here started in the 19th Century. The pit was well known for the fact it housed the last working beam engine in Cornwall. It worked up until 1959, it is now preserved at the Poldark Mine Museum.
The processing plant in the images on this page is made by CDE Global who are the largest wet processing equipment company in the world. The plant is a M2500 E5X, this is a low maintenance automated machine. It can also produce up to 5 washed and classified products simultaneously.
The remaining images on this page are of the main components of the sand processing plant.
