Cornish Mines 4.1 – Tolgus Tin, is a museum attached to “Cornish Gold”. It is the site of the last Tin Streaming Works in Cornwall. But it is well worth a visit to see the set of working Cornish Stamps. Tolgus Tin Works

Cornish Mines 4.2 – The remains of the 32″ Stamps Engine House of Tresavean Mine. Located in Lanner this has the distinction of being the second deepest Mine in Cornwall behind Dolcoath. Also it had the first Man Engine in Cornwall which was installed in 1842 by Micheal Loam.

Cornish Mine Images 4.3 – My most favourite site in Cornwall, dramatic and amazing Trewavas Mine. Both the Engine Houses were renovated recently, if left they would have collapsed and been lost.

Cornish Mine Images 4.4 – The impressive three storey Engine House on Batters Shaft of West Chiverton Mine, it contained an 80″ engine built by Harvey’s of Hayle.

Cornish Mine Images 4.5 – The square stack of West Wheal Towan Mine can be seen for miles around.

Cornish Mine Images 4.6 – Wheal Coates Mine, so this image is taken from the path that leads from Chapel Porth. Such a great walk with amazing views.

Cornish Mine Images 4.8 – The 65″ Engine House on Sara’s Shaft. Wheal Kitty Mine in St Agnes, certainly a brilliant restoration.

Cornish Mine Images 4.9 – Wheal Peevor Mine is quite a place, most possibly the best three Engine House survival in Cornwall. Also recently renovated, sadly the site has lost much of its charm. But at least the buildings have received much needed work.

Cornish Mine Images 4.10 – Finally, Wheal Uny Mine, the prominent twin Engine Houses of the mine at Hind’s Shaft. The closer is a 26″ Whim Engine, behind is the 70″ Pumping Engine House.
